Our Story
From Holland to the Heart of Washington: The Van de Graaf Legacy
A Century of Excellence
The Van de Graaf story begins with Dutch immigrants in 1918, when our family first arrived in the United States seeking new opportunities. Through hard work and determination, they established themselves in Central Washington, laying the foundation for what would become a multi-generation ranching legacy.
By 1958, Dick Van de Graaf established the ranch that would grow into today's operation. His pioneering spirit and commitment to quality set standards that continue to guide our work today.

Continuing the Tradition
Today, Karen and Steve Van de Graaf lead our operations with the same dedication and vision that has defined our family for generations. Their leadership has expanded our capabilities while maintaining the core values that make Midvale Cattle Company special.
Each generation has contributed to our growth, from Dick's pioneering work to today's innovative approaches to cattle raising, land management, and sustainable practices.
Deep Roots in Washington
Our operations span across Central Washington's diverse landscapes, from irrigated fields along the Columbia River to summer ranching in Bickleton and Ellensburg, and autumn feedlot processes in Sunnyside.
We've been working these lands for generations—and they continue to provide. Our connection to the land goes beyond business; it's a relationship built on respect and stewardship that has sustained our family for over a century.
